Since the Second World War ended, the Italian Armed Forces have been engaged in International Missions all over the world in order to preserve, maintain and restore peace.
These are Operations and Missions carried out under the aegis of the UN, NATO and, today, also of the European Union (first European Community), conducted in areas of the globe of strategic interest for the nation.
Wherever the Italian Armed Forces have been called to intervene, the Italian Army has always had the opportunity to play a leading role. The Italian soldier has ceaselessly worked with awareness and professionalism, helping to restore stability, security and development in all those areas tormented by the war and thus gaining the attention of the whole world and international public opinion.

• "PELICAN" mission, Albania, 16 September 1991 - 3 December 1993 |
